1) Technology development goal

ㅇ Final goal

  • – To develop an Electromagnetic Launching System that can effectively suppress the initial forest fire by continuously shooting eco-friendly fire extinguishers, and to demonstrate simulated wild-fire suppression in Korea and France.

2) Technology development promotion schedule

3) Annual technology development goal

Divide Target
Final goal To develop an Electromagnetic Launching System that can effectively suppress the initial forest fire by continuously shooting eco-friendly fire extinguishers, and to demonstrate it in simulated wild-fire environments in Korea and France.
1st year Basic research for light-weighting and miniaturization of launching system devices
2nd year Continuous and precise launching system design, manufacturing, assembly and testing
3rd year Launching system performance test and on-site simulated wild-fire suppression demonstration

4) Technology evaluation method and environment for target items

Target item Evaluation method Evaluation environment
Fire extinguisher weight (Authorized institution witness test) Evaluate the weight of the fire extinguisher itself to determine if it is 5 kg or more, which is the quantitative target. Determine the weight of the projectile by measuring the weight of fire extinguisher itself
Launching distance (Certified institution witness test)

The distance traveled by the 5kg fire extinguisher ejected from the launching system is measured to evaluate whether it is over 300m, which is the quantitative target.

Evaluated by measuring the reach distance by launching a projectile in an actual field
Launch system gross weight

(In case of 5 kg or less of fire extinguisher)

(Certified institution witness test)

The weight of the main body of the launching system is measured to evaluate whether it is below the quantitative target of 250 kg.

Evaluated as the total weight of the launch system by measuring the weight of launch system body only, excluding the weight of fire extinguisher, the power supply unit, and the extinguisher feeder unit.
Launching destination accuracy

(CEP:Circular Error Probability)

(Certified institution witness test)

Evaluate whether the quantitative target, CEP (Circular Error Probability), is 5m or less by measuring the accuracy of hitting the target point of the injected fire extinguisher.

After shooting 10 fire extinguishers, a circle was drawn in the area where half of them 5 shots hit, and the radius was 5m from the center of arrival points, the CEP was evaluated as 5m
